Rotating Scales of War
The way that I’ve conceived of the world so far is that it’s pretty much like the straight up D&D world, except that it’s a little more gothic-steampunk-noir. The world has the same pantheon, races, classes, etc. For the last few hundred years has been in a dark age (after the fall of the last big empires). Civilized areas are few and far between – points of light in the scary dark wilderness and all that kind of stuff. I like a bunch of the things I’ve read from Eberon, so I’m pulling in some of that harsh feeling. Monsters can be very smart & build their own cities and civilizations from time to time. Sometimes it makes more sense to talk and trade/barter with them than to go kill them.
